Seven Sorrows goes against the grain in several ways. First, they are Catholic. Second, they aren't afraid to do hardcore. As if this wasn't enough to make everyone think they were from another planet, they also give their music away for free. That's right, you can download all their songs from www.SevenSorrows.com and if you want a CD all you have to do is send them a couple of bucks to cover shipping. Interview with Nick Alexander – aka The Catholic Weird Al

Nick Alexander has been called the “Catholic Weird Al.” Weird Al, of course, is a well known for writing parodies songs. A parody is a song that takes the music from another song (usually one that's well known) and changes the words to give it a humorous new meaning. Nick Alexander has taken songs from popular music and gives them a Catholic twist. Some of the songs he's done are “Old Time Gregorian Chant” -- to the music of “Old Time Rock n' Roll”, “Repent” -- to “Respect,” and “Should I Stand or Should I kneel” -- to the music of “Should I Stay or Should I Go.” Nick Alexander has already released two comedy albums and is going to be releasing a new one this year. Does Christian Music Preach to the Choir?

One of the criticisms against Christian music is that it is merely preaching to the choir? Is this true? While I don't have any statistics on the matter, it probably is the case that the majority of people who listen to Christian music are Christians. The proponents of this argument would say that Christians would be more effective if they played their music and avoided the label “Christian music.” This way they would be listened to by more non-Christians and would not be merely “preaching to the choir.” I think this argument makes some unwarranted assumptions.

Why We Need Modern Catholic music?
